The Political Power of Social Media - Clay Shirky at PRI's "The World" and in Foreign Affairs

The Political Power of Social Media

As Tunisia has shown recently, the use of social media provides a lot of benefits to those challenging the status quo. However, there are limits to what social media can accomplish in the political sphere. Anchor Marco Werman talks with Clay Shirky (pictured to the left), the author of ‘The Political Power of Social Media: Technology, the Public Sphere, and Political Change’. It’s an essay that appears in the current issue of Foreign Affairs magazine. Shirky is also Professor of New Media at New York University.  Go to PRI's "The World" for more.
